Fabrizio Romano Delivers Major Update on Liverpool’s Pursuit of Bradley Barcola
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Bradley Barcola remains one of Liverpool’s top priorities in the summer transfer window, with the Paris Saint-Germain winger now sitting at the top of the Reds’ shortlist.
Romano explained that Liverpool have admired the France international for months, and their interest has only intensified following setbacks in the pursuit of other attacking targets.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said Barcola has “always been on Liverpool’s list” and is now a serious transfer target, although any potential deal will depend on whether the Merseyside club can reach an agreement with PSG, who are expected to demand a significant fee.
Liverpool’s options in the winger market are becoming increasingly limited, making Barcola one of the few elite, attainable attackers still available. However, PSG are believed to value the 23-year-old highly and could demand a fee similar to the £116 million recently paid by Manchester City for Elliot Anderson.
Romano also suggested that Arsenal could enter the race if they fail to land their primary target, Morgan Rogers. While Mikel Arteta’s side remain focused on striking a deal with Aston Villa, Barcola is viewed as a strong alternative should those negotiations collapse.
Barcola himself recently addressed speculation over his future during France’s World Cup camp, refusing to commit to PSG.
> “My focus is on the World Cup now. After that, my future… I don’t know,” he told reporters.
His comments have fuelled further speculation, with Romano noting that the winger could easily have dismissed the rumours had he wanted to, leaving the door open for clubs like Liverpool to make their move.
Liverpool are now expected to decide whether they are prepared to meet PSG’s valuation as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
