Liverpool allowed Newcastle United to retake the lead in their 2026/27 Premier League clash at St. James’ Park, as substitute Joe Willock made it 2-1 to the hosts.
Cody Gakpo had equalised for the Reds earlier in the second half, but the score remained level for only a few minutes. In the 57th minute, Ryan Gravenberch lost possession just outside the Newcastle box, and Willock burst forward on the counter-attack before finishing powerfully to restore the home side’s advantage.
