That forced Liverpool’s center-backs to cover more ground and made the defensive shape look less secure than it should have.BARCOLA WAS LEFT WITHOUT ENOUGH HELPTsimikas’ struggles also had a direct effect on Barcola.Liverpool’s winger often needed an overlapping run or a quick combination to create separation.Instead, Barcola was frequently left facing defenders without enough support.That allowed Fulham to stay compact.It also meant Liverpool missed opportunities to stretch the pitch and create better crossing angles.For a team struggling to break down an organized defense, that lack of support became increasingly noticeable.
THE GOAL-LINE CLEARANCE SHOWED HOW CLOSE FULHAM CAMELiverpool were fortunate not to fall behind.Jacquet’s goal-line intervention prevented Fulham from taking advantage of one of their best first-half opportunities.That moment summed up the danger Liverpool faced.The Reds had possession and created chances of their own, but they were far from comfortable.Fulham were able to attack quickly when Liverpool lost the ball, and the left side became one of the areas they looked to exploit.SUPPORTERS QUICKLY TURNED ON TSIMIKASThe reaction on social media was immediate.One Liverpool supporter called for Tsimikas to be sent on loan and questioned whether he understood his role.

THIS WAS EXACTLY THE TYPE OF GAME HE NEEDEDThat is what makes the performance more disappointing.Tsimikas has not been trusted with many major starts recently.When opportunities do come, he needs to make them count.A solid defensive display combined with useful attacking support could have reminded the coaching staff why he still deserves an important squad role.Instead, he looked short of confidence and rhythm.That will only make it harder for him to earn more minutes.
LIVERPOOL’S PROBLEMS WENT BEYOND ONE PLAYERIt would be unfair to place the entire first-half performance on Tsimikas.Liverpool were not sharp enough in several areas.The finishing was poor.The midfield did not always control transitions.The tempo dropped at important moments.Fulham defended with discipline and created problems of their own.Still, individual performances matter.And Tsimikas was one of the players who stood out for the wrong reasons.
