Bayern Munich Prepared Huge €70m Bid for Liverpool Wonderkid Rio Ngumoha Before Transfer Move Collapsed

Written by Eddie Being

Liverpool have reportedly turned down the possibility of losing one of their most exciting young talents after Bayern Munich considered a massive €70 million move for Rio Ngumoha.

The German giants are believed to have identified the Liverpool teenager as a potential addition to their attacking options, with his impressive development at Anfield attracting attention from several major European clubs.

However, Liverpool remain determined to keep hold of the highly rated winger as they continue planning for his future under manager Andoni Iraola.

Bayern Munich Were Ready to Spend €70m on Ngumoha

According to German transfer journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich were prepared to invest approximately €70 million (£58.3 million) to secure Ngumoha’s signature.

The Bundesliga champions reportedly held discussions with representatives of the youngster, including his brother, as they explored the possibility of bringing him to Germany.

Bayern were also considering other attacking targets, including Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. Nevertheless, Ngumoha was understood to be a serious option during their search for additional quality on the left flank.

Liverpool’s reluctance to negotiate, however, proved to be a significant obstacle, with the Merseyside club making it clear that they had no intention of easily parting ways with the youngster.

Liverpool Have No Intention of Losing Their Rising Star

Ngumoha’s rapid development has made him an increasingly important figure in Liverpool’s long-term plans.

Since arriving from Chelsea’s academy, the young winger has continued to impress with his pace, confidence, dribbling ability and willingness to take on defenders.

His growing involvement with the senior squad suggests that Liverpool see him as more than just another academy prospect.

There have also been encouraging developments regarding his contract situation. Reports from This Is Anfield in October indicated that negotiations over a new long-term agreement were progressing, with the youngster reportedly happy at Anfield.

His current contract runs until 2028, meaning Liverpool are not under immediate pressure to sell him.

Bayern Munich Could Return for Ngumoha

Although their initial attempt did not produce a breakthrough, Bayern Munich’s interest in Ngumoha may not be over.

The German club could reportedly revisit their pursuit as they assess their attacking options, particularly following concerns surrounding Luis Diaz’s injury.

However, Liverpool are expected to remain firm in their position.

A €70 million offer would represent a substantial amount of money for a young player, but the Reds could believe that keeping Ngumoha is more valuable to their long-term ambitions.

Liverpool Must Protect Their Biggest Young Talents

Liverpool’s decision to resist Bayern Munich’s reported interest could prove important for the club’s future.

Ngumoha possesses the qualities needed to become a major attacking threat if he continues developing at his current pace.

Rather than accepting a huge financial offer, Liverpool appear focused on giving him the opportunity to establish himself at Anfield.

For Bayern Munich, the pursuit may have to wait. For Liverpool supporters, keeping one of England’s most exciting young attacking prospects could be a significant victory.
