Liverpool manager Arne Slot has shared his thoughts on Darwin Nunez’s performance in the Reds’ narrow 1-0 victory over Girona in the Champions League.
“I would have loved to have seen Darwin score because he needs a goal and that’s why I kept him on the pitch for quite a long time.
“He was a threat but when a striker doesn’t score you’re always asking yourself whether it’s a not good play or because of lacking confidence,” Slot has said.
Liverpool’s victory over Girona secured their sixth consecutive win in the competition, with Mohamed Salah’s penalty providing the decisive goal.
