Mo Salah was asked about his Liverpool contract situation after scoring twice in the 6-3 win over Liverpool.
Mo Salah gave a three-word response to question about his contract situation after another record-breaking display for Liverpool.

The Reds moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 6-3 hammering of Spurs on Sunday afternoon. Salah struck twice and also registered two assists to achieve a feat that no other player in the league has ever managed.

After his brace in the second half, as well as his delightful passes for Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz, the Egypt captain is the first player in Premier League history to have 10 goals and 10 assists before Christmas.

He is also now fourth in Liverpool’s all-time scoring charts, overtaking the great Billy Liddell after moving to 229 goals. He is 117 away from record scorer Ian Rush, who notched a ridiculous 346 goals in 660 appearances for the club – with Salah staggered by the record.

“Of course it’s something great to achieve at such a big club but again the most important thing is we won the game and to have the achievement is great,” Salah told Sky Sports.

“I don’t how he scored that many goals to be honest! I think the football back then was seven versus seven and it wasn’t really 11 versus 11. He’s a great legend for the club and we have a good contact so whenever I’m going to end my career I’m happy about it. Let’s see.”

The former Roma winger would need to extend his stay at Anfield to have a chance at catching up Rush and with his contract due to expire in the summer, reporter Patrick Davison asked Salah if there was any update on his situation.

But despite being open earlier this season, Salah offered a brief response, saying: “No, nothing” to close out the interview.

What did Salah say about his Liverpool situation last month
After a win away at Southampton, Salah went out of his way to talk to the Liverpool press in the mixed zone and revealed that there had been no offer from the club.

He explained: “We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club, [so] I’m probably more out than in.

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see. Of course [no offer is disappointing], yeah.
