After impressing in training, Rio Ngumoha misses out on Girona clash due to UEFA rules

Liverpool’s 16-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha has been making waves in training, impressing manager Arne Slot and the first-team squad.

However, despite his rapid progress, Ngumoha will not be eligible to feature on the bench for tonight’s Champions League match against Girona due to UEFA registration rules.

Ngumoha, who has been dazzling fans with his silky skills and pace at under-18, under-19, and under-21 levels, is not registered in Liverpool’s UEFA squad.

As he has not been with the Reds for an uninterrupted period of two years, he cannot be included on List B, and he was not registered on the Reds’ List A before the league phase started.

Liverpool will be without several key players for tonight’s match, including Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota, and Ibrahima Konate, due to illness, injury, and suspension.

Alisson Becker returns from a hamstring problem, but the Reds will still be short-handed.
