A huge new update on Alexander Isak’s future may have changed everything for Liverpool’s transfer window plans.

Since the transfer window opened at the beginning of June, it’s been clear that Liverpool are keen to bring a new striker into their squad ahead of next season.
Several names have been linked with a move to Anfield, including the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Newcastle star Isak, who is reportedly Arne Slot’s dream signing.
However, despite Liverpool’s hopes of securing a move for Isak, it has been widely reported that Newcastle have no intention of selling the Swedish international and see him as a key part of their future plans.
But now, new reports from two transfer experts have revealed that the hopes of signing Isak aren’t dead yet, and Liverpool’s transfer window could still take a huge turn.
A new report from Fabrizio Romano on X confirmed that Liverpool are finally preparing to make an official club to club approach with Newcastle to discuss a record bid for Isak.
The decision will remain in Newcastle’s hands, but should they decided against selling their star player, Liverpool will then attempt to hijack the Magpies’ planned signing of Ekitike.
In a further update from David Ornstein, revealed that Liverpool are yet to make a formal bid for Isak and are aware of Newcastle’s stance regarding the 25-year-old’s future, but believe that a deal in the region of £120million could be possible.
The news comes just hours after it was revealed that Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt had rejected Newcastle’s initial bid for Ekitike, which is believed to be worth close to £70m.
Mark Goldbridge reveals new Alexander Isak transfer theory
YouTuber and well-known Manchester United supporter Mark Goldbridge believes Liverpool’s approach for Isak is a ‘power play’ from the Premier League champions.
He claims it will end with the Reds signing one of Isak or Ekitike, denying Newcastle the chance to have both forwards.
“Liverpool basically saying to Newcastle we’ll give you a world record bid for Isak or we’ll steal Ekitike from you,” Goldbridge posted on X.
