Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has revealed on social media that he will be sidelined for “a while” after suffering another injury setback.

The Brazilian had missed the first leg against Galatasaray but returned for the weekend clash with Tottenham Hotspur and also featured in the return leg at Anfield.

However, Alisson—who has faced recurring injury issues during his time at Liverpool FC—will at least miss the upcoming trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to step in as his replacement.

In an Instagram update, the goalkeeper wrote: “Unfortunately I’ll be out for a while, but I’m already working hard to come back stronger. Thank you for the support.

The timing is far from ideal for manager Arne Slot and his side, who are pushing to secure a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League. Liverpool currently sit fifth in the table, just one point ahead of Chelsea FC.

Alisson is not the only concern, as Mohamed Salah is also sidelined with an injury.

Although he recently scored his 50th Champions League goal, Slot confirmed the winger will miss upcoming matches, including international duty with Egypt.

The manager noted that while Salah’s injury is unexpected, his strong fitness record could help him recover quicker than most.

Elsewhere, Joe Gomez is dealing with a minor injury and remains a doubt, while Alexander Isak is still out but could return in April, potentially in time for a Champions League quarter-final.
