Liverpool manager Arne Slot spoke to the press ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Chelsea at Anfield.
The Reds are raring to go after the international break, having embarked on a wonderful run of form.
Liverpool have won their last six games in a row in all competitions and sit top of the Premier League table on 18 points. While the international break is often met with a mixed reaction by fans, one Reds player had a pretty good spell on duty for his country.Slot has singled the player out for praise, saying he’s “very good” and has a “bright future” ahead.
Arne Slot hails Liverpool gem Conor BradleyThe player in question is Conor Bradley, who captained Northern Ireland in both of their Nations League games in October
The 21-year-old has had a 2024 to remember. He finally became a Liverpool first-team regular at the start of the year, won his first piece of silverware, and is now a key option for Slot.“I think it’s going to be a bright future for him because he’s a very good player and very good players [are] what we need here at Liverpool,” Slot told the Liverpool media team.
He’s done – last season especially – really well when he had to replace Trent, and now Trent has played a lot.“But he is a very good player and although he has big competition from Trent, normally very good players find their way into the team. That’s what I also expect with him in the future at this club.
What Bradley has said about Alexander-ArnoldBradley, speaking to the Liverpool Echo earlier this week, acknowledged that he’s got stiff competition ahead of him at right-back in Alexander-Arnold.
However, he said his aim is to simply do his all when called upon, train and play well, and help raise standards by increasing competition for places.“Everybody knows how good Trent is.
He’s one of a kind as a footballer,” said Bradley.“But my aim is the same as last season – whenever I get a chance to be on the pitch I’m going to do my best to help the team.
It’s about winning the games and giving my all.“I know I’ve got some decent competition. If I’m training well, hopefully it can push Trent on and that can only be good for the team.
