Arsenal and Manchester United could be on the verge of a late transfer battle as the window nears its final hours.

With less than 10 hours remaining in the January transfer window, several top Premier League clubs are still working to finalize key signings to strengthen their squads.

So far, both Arsenal and United have had a relatively quiet window, with only the latter completing a deal. However, a fresh report suggests that things could soon intensify, as the two clubs may go head-to-head for a major signing before the deadline.

Securing a new forward has reportedly been a priority for both clubs, leading to links with some of Europe’s most promising goalscorers. Now, according to TBR Football, Arsenal and United have expressed interest in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who could be on the move.

Vlahovic is currently under contract with Juventus until June 2026, but the Italian club is eager to extend his deal. However, negotiations have hit a standstill, sparking interest from the two Premier League sides.

Following Paul Pogba’s departure in November 2024, Vlahovic became Serie A’s highest-paid player, earning €373,846 (£310,385) per week, according to Capology. Despite a year of negotiations, he has refused to accept a wage reduction in any new deal, making a transfer—either now or in the summer—a strong possibility.

This situation has attracted both Arsenal and United, with Arsenal looking to reinforce their attack amid injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, while United seek to replace underperforming young forwards Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Both clubs had previously attempted to sign Bayern Munich’s highly-rated forward Mathys Tel, but as Fabrizio Romano confirmed, the Frenchman has now decided to join Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day, despite earlier rejecting their approach.
