Aston Villa have been left frustrated after the Premier League rejected their request to move next week’s clash with Liverpool. The club had hoped to reschedule the match to March, a month where they are only set to play one league game.

Villa’s appeal was denied, leaving them with a congested schedule of five matches in just 14 days. Unai Emery’s side will now face Ipswich, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace in the Premier League, along with a FA Cup fifth-round clash against Cardiff City on February 28.
The match against Liverpool, originally scheduled for March 15, was moved to next Wednesday, February 19, due to a clash with the Carabao Cup final, where Liverpool will meet Newcastle.
Villa hoped to push the fixture back to March or later in the season, citing a lighter league schedule next month. However, the Premier League upheld the decision, leaving Villa with a punishing run of fixtures.
