Arsenal’s pursuit of an experienced goal scorer to reinforce their attacking line this summer is widely acknowledged within football circles.

Kai Havertz, their current top scorer, has impressively tallied 12 goals in the ongoing 2023-24 season, including a brace against Chelsea, highlighting a commendable goal-scoring record for the campaign.

Despite collectively netting 82 goals, making them the Premier League’s leading scorers, concerns persist among some observers regarding the team’s absence of a consistent match-winner akin to Mo Salah or Erling Haaland, players renowned for their ability to find the net consistently, a trait evident in title contenders Manchester City and Liverpool.

Although Gabriel Jesus has displayed flashes of goal-scoring brilliance when injury-free, Arsenal has set their sights on Joshua Zirkzee during this transfer window, recognizing him as a potential game-changer.

Zirkzee, a 22-year-old striker from Bologna, has also registered 12 goals this season, as per WhoScored, underscoring his proficiency as a genuine center-forward rather than an auxiliary attacker like Havertz.

There’s optimism that under Mikel Arteta’s tutelage, Zirkzee could further hone his skills, mirroring the progress of other players who have thrived under the manager’s guidance in recent seasons.

According to reports from Tuttosport, as cited by Football Italia, Arsenal is actively involved in negotiations with Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, with discussions centering around a contract extension until 2029, coupled with a substantial annual salary of €6 million. However, the outcome of these talks remains uncertain at this stage.

Furthermore, Arsenal faces stiff competition from other clubs such as Milan, Aston Villa, Internazionale, and Manchester United, all competing for Zirkzee’s signature.

Nevertheless, Arsenal may hold an edge due to Joorabchian’s purported longstanding association with the club, potentially swaying Zirkzee’s decision-making process in their favor, as reported by Footballwave.
