Cody Gakpo may face disciplinary action from the Football Association after revealing a vest with the message “I Belong to Jesus” during his goal celebration.
The Liverpool forward was on target at Anfield against Tottenham Hotspur as the hosts secured the Premier League title.
The incident has drawn attention due to FA regulations that prohibit players from displaying “political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images” during matches.
Gakpo’s celebration could therefore be in breach of the association’s strict guidelines.
