Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes new Reds head coach Arne Slot faces a difficult decision over the future of Darwin Nunez this summer.
Nunez experienced another mixed campaign despite 18 goals and 13 assists in 54 appearances, moving him on to 50 goal contributions in 96 appearances for the Anfield outfit since arriving from Benfica for a potential club record £85million two years ago.
The Uruguayan started just one of Liverpool’s last six games of the season and netted only once in the Premier League since returning from a hamstring complaint in early March.
New Reds boss Slot is understood eager to extract more from Nunez – who is with Uruguay preparing for this month’s Copa America and scored a hat-trick in the recent win over Mexico – and sees the forward as part of his plans.
