Diaz – 8, Trent – 5: Liverpool player ratings in Wolves win

Written by admin

Virgil van Dijk (8/10):

Put in a dominant display, always one step ahead. He successfully cut out counter-attacks, blocked crosses, and won plenty of duels around the penalty area.

Alexis Mac Allister (8/10):

Played key roles in both Liverpool goals with excellent forward passes and controlled possession well. Made a crucial block to deny Cunha early in the second half.

Luis Diaz (8/10):

Was more comfortable on the left side than in central roles recently. While his goal had a bit of luck, he showed good energy to bundle it in and also won the penalty before being substituted for Endo’s defensive cover.

Mohamed Salah (7/10):

Scored from the penalty spot and was involved in the opening goal, though some of his attempts didn’t come off. Still ended up being the match-winner.

Diogo Jota (7/10):

Gave Wolves constant trouble, with a superb touch and turn leading to the opening goal. Went close on a couple of occasions but was marked down for a disappointing dive in search of a penalty.

Alisson Becker (7/10):

Made an excellent one-on-one save to deny Munetsi early in the second half and showed good handling throughout. Had no chance with Cunha’s curled finish.

Jarell Quansah (7/10):

Came on at halftime and took a bit of time to settle. Once he did, he made an important block to deny Munetsi late on.

Andrew Robertson (6/10):

Created an attacking threat, though his defensive work still lacks consistency.

Dominik Szoboszlai (6/10):

Worked hard in midfield but only showed flashes of his quality in possession.

Conor Bradley (6/10):

Combined well with Salah after replacing Alexander-Arnold.

Wataru Endo (6/10):

Added some solidity to the midfield but didn’t always inspire confidence.

Ibrahima Konate (5/10):

Cleared a couple of early threats but was fortunate to avoid a red card after two clumsy challenges, receiving just one booking. Substituted at halftime to avoid a potential red.

Ryan Gravenberch (5/10):

Provided some presence in midfield but couldn’t make a significant impact. Was too easily bypassed in the build-up to Cunha’s goal.

Darwin Nunez (5/10):

Had little influence during his 30-minute cameo on the pitch.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (5/10):

His passing was sloppy from the start, and he struggled defensively against Ait-Nouri. Looked rusty after a couple of weeks off and was replaced just past the hour mark.
