Hugo Ekitike – 9
Ekitike was at his devastating best from the get go against Brighton, taking his opportunity perfectly in the 46th second with a powerful finish to put his side ahead.
He was a tormenting figure with his clever movement, getting the ball in the right positions and then scored a great header to double his side’s lead too!
Mo Salah – 8
Salah with a triumphant return to action for Liverpool! The Egyptian winger was able to be more dangerous with his movement, getting the ball into the right positions. He created a number of big chances with his clever final passes and earned a deserved assist for Ekitike’s second.
Ibrahima Konate – 8
A superb display from Konate to take some pressure off his shoulders. He was a bullish figure at the backline, winning 10 (the most) duels and also coming up with seven clearances and six possession recoveries. His movement and positioning were excellent, with Konate showing shades of last season’s dominance.
Florian Wirtz – 8
Even though Wirtz might keep being without a goal, his performance against Brighton was really good. He ran the show in the opposition half, making clever forward passes and setting up three big chances. He won most of his duels and looked a positive spark in the final third to maintain positive energy levels in the attack.
Curtis Jones – 7.5
Curtis continues proving his value to the team with another sturdy display in the midfield. He was really proactive in moving the ball forward quickly and also won eight duels, breaking down a number of opposition attacking moves.
Ryan Gravenberch – 7.5
The Dutch midfielder looked secure with Curtis beside him and was at his dominant best in the midfield. He won eight duels, made three blocks and four interceptions. Moved the ball nicely and created a few nice chances too.
