Bayern Munich may have wanted a penalty, but the reality is that this isn’t what the sport is about.It’s almost the equivalent to a Mankad in cricket, it’s a silly incident that you could pick up on if you were being super stringent, but, at the end of the day, it goes against the spirit of the game and the right call was ultimately made here.
Dier does have some right to feel annoyed, but, at the same time, it would be incredibly unsatisfying if an incident like this decided such an incredible tie.
