Great News: Alexander Isak’s return date has been revealed

There is finally light at the end of the tunnel for Alexander Isak, but Liverpool FC fans may still need to stay patient.

After months on the sidelines with a serious leg injury, the striker is edging closer to a return, with the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain emerging as a realistic target.

Signed for a massive £125 million, expectations around Isak were always going to be high.

However, his first season at Anfield has been disrupted from the start, with injuries and lack of rhythm preventing him from building any real momentum. From a groin issue early in the campaign to a broken leg in December, it has been a frustrating journey for both player and club.

Now back on the pitch in light training, Isak is progressing—but not rushing.

Arne Slot has made it clear that Liverpool will take a careful approach. “Alex will be available, yes,” Slot said. “The question is what you mean by being ready.”

It’s a message that sets the tone—availability does not mean full sharpness.

The Liverpool boss was honest about what fans should expect in the short term.

“If you expect the same player from a year ago, I have my doubts after seven or eight months out,” he admitted.

“But I expect that I can use him for minutes.” With Isak yet to train fully with the squad, Liverpool are likely to reintroduce him gradually, possibly even through controlled matches or limited substitute appearances.

That cautious approach reflects the reality of modern recovery.

As Slot explained, players don’t jump straight back into full matches after injury. “You don’t, after one training session, play 45 or 90 minutes,” he said.

Instead, the focus remains on building fitness step by step, ensuring no setbacks derail his return once again.Despite the slow process, there is still belief that Isak can make an impact before the season ends.

Liverpool have created chances consistently, and Slot openly acknowledged how valuable a player like him could be. “If you have one of the best strikers in the world, that usually means more points,” he said, highlighting exactly what has been missing in key moments.

Looking at the bigger picture, however, the real expectation is next season.

Slot didn’t hide that reality either: “It is 100 percent sure fans will see the best of him next season.

” For now, any contribution in the coming months could be a bonus—but if Isak can deliver even a few decisive moments, it might still shape how Liverpool’s season is remembered.
