Liverpool could hand Arne Slot ‘ideal signing’ in January to boost Premier League title hopes

Liverpool have been linked with completing a signing in January that could help fire Arne Slot’s men to the Premier League title.

Dutchman Slot has done an incredible job since taking over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

Currently, the Reds hold a six-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and also sit pretty at the summit of the UEFA Champions League.

With the January transfer window just a few days away, it has been claimed that Liverpool are keeping a keen eye on one Premier League star that could strengthen Slot’s squad.

When it comes to finding a player who’s going to step into Andy Robertson’s shoes, that task becomes even more difficult. But he’s answered a lot of the questions about him and he’s at the top of his game at the moment.”

Brown added: “He’s very similar to Robertson, actually, in the way he’s always willing to get forward and cause problems on the overlap getting problems in.

“Over the last few years, there’s been nobody better at that than Robertson, but now you could make the argument that Robinson is right up there. So as far as I’ve heard, they view him as the ideal replacement in that position.”

Speaking after Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Leicester City on Boxing Day, Slot said: “It’s important to win a game and I think we should win at home against Leicester, but I had the same feeling against Fulham and Nottingham Forest; so, you always have to do a lot, especially in the Premier League, to win a game.

“The league table is something of course we are aware of, but we also understand how many games there are still to play.”

Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they take on West Ham United at the London Stadium.
