David Lynch has claimed that Liverpool F.C. are seriously interested in signing Michael Olise from FC Bayern Munich as they plan for a future that may not include Mohamed Salah.

Olise has elevated his performances since making the switch to the Bundesliga, attracting continued interest from English clubs eager to bring him back to the Premier League. Speaking via TEAMtalk and on Anfield Index, Lynch suggested Liverpool fans should pay close attention to the situation, especially with Bayern reportedly showing interest in Cody Gakpo. He noted that Olise has been admired by Liverpool for years — even before his move to Crystal Palace F.C. — and hinted that the player could be open to a Premier League return in the future.
The 24-year-old built his reputation at Palace and was heavily pursued in the summer of 2024 before Bayern secured his signature in a €60m (£50m) deal. Since arriving in Germany, he has flourished, registering 13 goals and 25 assists in 35 appearances this season.
With Salah’s long-term future at Anfield still uncertain, Liverpool reportedly view Olise as a strong long-term successor. However, striking a deal will be extremely challenging. Bayern have no desire to sell, his contract runs until 2029, and any transfer fee could exceed €114m (£100m).
While Lynch believes Olise remains firmly on FSG’s radar — and that a return to England may appeal to the player eventually — a move this summer currently appears unlikely
