Liverpool Fans React Badly to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Real Madrid Social Media Post

Written by admin

Watching one of your key players leave your football club for another team is never easy for fans. Liverpool fans are well aware of that right now, with Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving the Reds this summer and taking his talents to Real Madrid. The full-back has spent his entire career at Anfield up until this point and was a firm fan favourite with Liverpool supporters.

He’s played over 350 games for his boyhood team and there were no right-backs on the planet that Liverpool fans would have wanted to see represent the club over him. That all changed when he announced his intentions to leave the side once his contract expired and move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

While they once worshiped the ground he walked on, the Anfield faithful have now turned on Alexander-Arnold. They’ve even taken to blocking him on social media after his latest post too.

Liverpool Fans Are Blocking Alexander-Arnold After He Shared a Video

Despite being a boyhood Liverpool fan and spending all of his career with the Reds, the move to Real Madrid is clearly something Alexander-Arnold is excited about. He conducted his entire opening press conference with the club in fluent Spanish and he’s now posted a video on social media documenting his journey to the Santiago Bernabeu. He even captioned it with a house emoji, essentially calling Madrid home.

It’s safe to say that the post has rubbed Liverpool fans the wrong way. Many have voiced their frustration in the comments and some have even blocked the full-back. One supporter replied to his video on X (Twitter), saying: “Never been so relieved to be able to unfollow you on here. Honestly, whatever legacy you think you’ve behind, you’re kidding yourself. Enjoy that money for comfort, cos that’s all you’ll have in your old age.”

Another fan compared the England star’s legacy at Liverpool to Steven Gerrard’s and posted: “You spoke about replicating Gerrard in the past. You will never be spoken about in the same breath as him. So disappointing as a Scouser who we supported through thick and thin despite media scrutiny. Your bed is made,” while a third simply stated: “Wish you all the worst mate.”

A fourth supporter also revealed their intention to unfollow Alexander-Arnold on social media, posting: “Can’t even follow you anymore lad, of course you won’t be arsed. Just don’t come running back here, cap in hand, when you eventually get kicked out of Madrid. Your short-term big-bucks decision will stick with you for life, stay in Spain,” and another couldn’t resist calling him out for the caption to the video, stating: “20 years at Liverpool yet 24 hours in Madrid is your ‘Home’. Can’t wait for this move to flop.”

A sixth fan simply shared an image of them blocking Alexander-Arnold on X and a final supporter warned him about playing Liverpool in the future and said: “Enjoy Anfield away next season buddy. See you real soon. You haven’t escaped us.”
