Liverpool fans want Slot to Axe ‘Absolutely Lost’ Liverpool Man After Palace Loss

Written by admin

Liverpool fans took to social media to voice their frustrations with midfielder Alexis Mac Allister following the club’s clash with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Liverpool, who are defending champions this season, entered the match with a perfect record in the league, having won all of their opening five games, despite not necessarily appearing at their best.

In what was their latest game in the league at the time of writing, Liverpool travelled to Selhurst Park, facing a Crystal Palace side who, across all competitions, were unbeaten in 17 matches, including a Community Shield game against the Reds.

Liverpool dropped points for the first time in the campaign, but once more appeared to have avoided losing in a sensational fashion when Federico Chiesa, on from the bench, netted in the 87th minute as they looked to snatch a point from the jaws of defeat.

Eddie Nketiah, however, had other ideas, scoring a 97th-minute winning goal to condemn the Reds to their first Premier League loss of the campaign in a match where Liverpool were far from their brilliant best.

As the game neared its end, and after the full-time whistle had blown, many Liverpool fans commented on the performance of one particular midfielder.

‘Mac Allister Looks Absolutely Lost’

The midfielder was not the only player to perform poorly, with defender Ibrahima Konate seeming as though he was not at his best either. For all of the impressive performances that Mac Allister, however, has had in a Liverpool shirt, a level of form he will surely return to in time, it was clear that the 26-year-old was not at his best in South London.

Mac Allister Looked Poor Against Palace

Mac Allister’s game against Palace spanned just over an hour, the midfielder being replaced with Curtis Jones in the 65th minute. The former Brighton man was unable to have even one shot on goal and though he won all of his aerial duels, he lost out on both of his ground battles, according to SofaScore.

It is hard to justify the argument that Mac Allister, who lost possession seven times against Palace, should continue to start, especially when consideration is given to the fact that both Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch have enjoyed sensational starts to the campaign and can play in Mac Allister’s position.

Liverpool are so well-stocked as a team that they have options brimming with quality to replace Mac Allister which, based on his display at Selhurst Park, may need to happen sooner rather than later.
