As Darwin Núñez continues to struggle in front of goal and it seems that Liverpool have made a move to find goals elsewhere.
After Arne Slot’s side put four goals past Accrington Stanley, questions continue over Núñez’s future at the club.
Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has hinted it may be time for the Uruguayan to move on.
Speaking to ITV, he said: “We’re saying the same things now that we’re saying two or three years ago. He’s raw, he’s this, he’s that, and we can’t keep saying that.”
The more I see him, the more I think he’s not a Liverpool player.”
Despite Liverpool’s strong overall form under Arne Slot, Núñez’s individual contributions have been underwhelming, raising questions about his future at the club.
Across all competitions, he has managed just four goals and three assists in 24 appearances.
And, according to one report, it seems Liverpool are looking for other options in the market this January.
Liverpool make move for Bundesliga 2 striker
According to a report from Anfield Watch, Liverpool have held talks this week with the representatives of Stefanos Tzimas.
The Greek forward currently on loan at FC Nuremburg in Bundesliga 2.
He made history as PAOK’s youngest-ever goalscorer at just 17 years old during a Super League Greece match in March 2023.
Liverpool have been told a fee of €25M will be required to convince his parent club POAK to part with his services. Personal terms are not expected to cause any issues, as revealed by Sam McGuire.
The 6ft 1inch forward is known for his strong link up play, and his ability to bring others in the game.
Stefanos Tzimas has yet to make an appearance for the Greek national side. That debut doesn’t seem too far away.
The 19-year-old has 8 goals and 2 assists in the second tier in Germany this season.
Tzimas is a modern forward who combines physicality with technical ability. His movement off the ball and sharp finishing make him a constant threat in the attacking third. Despite being primarily a striker, he is also capable of dropping deep to link play or drifting wide to create space for teammates.
Chelsea, Newcastle, and Aston Villa are also reportedly admirers of the striker.
Tzimas is strong in the air, and has the physical strength to lead a line on his own, with constant moving causing headaches for opposing defenders.
