Liverpool Set to Offload Kostas Tsimikas This Summer – Reports

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are planning to let left-back Kostas Tsimikas leave during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Despite playing a role in the club’s recent success—including their Premier League title triumph—Tsimikas is no longer seen as part of Liverpool’s long-term defensive plans.

The Greek international, who joined from Olympiacos in 2020, has served as a dependable backup to Andy Robertson over five seasons.

However, with Robertson’s influence waning and the club looking to the future, Liverpool have decided Tsimikas isn’t the right fit to take on a leading role.

Transfer Listing and a Potential Replacement

Tsimikas, now 28 and under contract until 2027, is expected to be placed on the transfer list. In anticipation of his departure, Liverpool have already identified Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as their top target to fill the left-back spot.

Pundit Ian Wright has even suggested that a deal for the Hungarian defender is “probably done,” highlighting how serious Liverpool are about the move.

A Memorable Run at Anfield

Tsimikas has had his share of standout moments with the Reds, including scoring the decisive penalty in the 2022 FA Cup final and assisting Virgil van Dijk’s winner in the 2024 EFL Cup final. In total, he’s made 114 appearances for the club and played a key role in both domestic and European competitions.

He’s also known for his close friendship with Mohamed Salah, once saying:

“Mo is one of my best mates… He’s always been there for me, and we spend a lot of time talking at the training ground.”

With Tsimikas set to depart and Trent Alexander-Arnold confirming his own exit, Liverpool will be searching for reinforcements on both flanks of their defense this summer.
