Luis Diaz’s move to Bayern Munich could end up helping Liverpool land RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, with one journalist outlining how the transfer chain might play out — and another report even offering a “guarantee” about Liverpool’s interest.

Diaz left Anfield last summer in a huge €75m (£65.5m) switch to Bayern, a deal that also helped Liverpool finance their club-record £125m move for Alexander Isak.
The Colombian has been outstanding in Germany, registering 19 goals and 15 assists in 32 appearances, and forming a lethal attacking trio with Harry Kane and Michael Olise. And according to German reporter Christian Falk, Diaz’s form could now reduce Bayern’s urgency to spend big on another winger — opening the door for Liverpool.
Falk claims Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are all tracking Diomande and have the financial power to sign him. But he believes Bayern are unlikely to pay around €100m for a player who would effectively be a backup option behind Diaz, suggesting the Bundesliga giants may look elsewhere instead.
Diomande is expected to become Leipzig’s most expensive sale, with a €100m (£87m) valuation that would surpass Josko Gvardiol’s €90m move to City. Liverpool sources have also dismissed rumours that Leipzig would accept just €60m in January.
It’s understood that Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have all scouted the 19-year-old, and have made contact with his representatives to express interest. Of the chasing pack, Liverpool are said to be leading the race — especially after Diomande publicly admitted on January 10 that he dreams of playing at Anfield and supports the club, adding that it is also his father’s dream.
On February 7, Liverpool journalist James Pearce suggested an elite winger is “destined” to join Arne Slot’s side this summer, with Diomande believed to be high on the shortlist.
Because Diomande can operate on either wing, he could compete with Cody Gakpo for a starting role, while also offering a long-term option should Liverpool eventually move on from Mohamed Salah.
Meanwhile, Liverpool reporter David Lynch has also stated that Diomande is firmly on the club’s radar, and even claimed Liverpool could act earlier than usual to avoid losing out to rivals such as United, City or Arsenal. Lynch added that while Liverpool traditionally wait longer before paying huge fees for attackers, the market is changing — and clubs are now forced to strike earlier to secure top young talents
