Liverpool have left all their transfer business to the final days as Arne Slot looks to put the finishing touches on his squad for the 2024-2025 season.

Can Liverpool afford to let Joe Gomez go? The one big positive about Joe Gomez is his versatility in defence. He operated a both a right-back and centre-back under Jurgen Klopp, which can be priceless when you’re fighting on multiple fronts.
Liverpool are pretty stocked at right-back with Conor Bradley and Trent Alexander-Arnold, but Arne Slot’s centre-back options will look a little light if he was to depart.
Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahim Konate, Jarrell Quansah and Nathaniel Phillips are the only options available to Slot, though the latter could yet leave before the deadline. Given the fact that the Reds are now back in the Champions League, it really does seem like a ‘madness’ decision to let Gomez leave.
Although, if what Lynch is saying is right then Michael Edwards will already have been planning for this situation and will be quick to replace quality with quality. Jonathan Tah is a player who Liverpool are interested in, though Xabi Alonso may not be so keen on letting one of his star players leave so close to the deadline.
