Liverpool and VAR, you can often hear this combination of words, definitely more than you’d want to hear. But unfortunately, when it comes to Liverpool you just have to be ready to face something controversial.
Somehow against Leicester it just looked incredibly suspicious how VAR tried to find any possible little thing to disallow the Liverpool’s goal. The referees didn’t mange to do the first time they tried.
But they actually disallowed one of Gakpo’s goals after a very lengthy review. Why it took so long? It is either the weather conditions or incompetence.
Fans reacted.
ðŸ’@CrimsonLFC: “VAR going through every possible scenario to try and call off Liverpool’s goal.”
ðŸ’@killashaw10: “Chris Kavanagh and VAR checking the second goal for 15 mins to find a way to disallow it for Liverpool.”
ðŸ’@Kaytea21: “They try so hard to disallow goals for Liverpool when it comes to VAR. No other team faces this much scrutiny. Just ridiculous.”
ðŸ’@WilcoFtbl: “I’ve never in my life seen VAR taking that long to award a perfectly legit goal. They’ll do all they can to disallow a Liverpool goal.”
ðŸ’@francoisplateau: “Quite a lengthy VAR check searching for a reason to disallow Liverpool’s perfectly legitimate second goal, but GOAL STANDS: Liverpool go 2-1 up with a goal from Curtis Jones.”
ðŸ’@JYeadon: “How many different things did VAR want to check for the Liverpool goal Jesus…”
