Saka, Tomiyasu, Timber – Arsenal injury news and return dates before Chelsea match

Written by admin

Arsenal will have to check up on England superstar Bukayo Saka before their Premier League showdown against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Saka was spotted limping in the latter stages of Arsenal’s victory over Wolves after he was fouled on four separate occasions in that 2-0 triumph at Molineux.

Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard grabbed the goals on Saturday night as Arsenal gunned down Wolves to return to the Premier League summit.

Manchester City, who are just one point behind with a game in hand, were not in top-flight action this match round owing to FA Cup semi-final duty.

Long-term absentee Jurrien Timber (knee) and Takehiro Tomiyasu (knock) missed the Wolves win as Saka limped around in the dying embers.

Jurrien TimberInjury: Knee.

Return date: TBC.What Arteta has said: “He’s got a few steps to make. He needs to play at least one game with the U23s. We’re going to have an in-house game soon too.

He’s done everything in training now it’s about getting him match-fit, having people around him and competing in a football match which is different to training.

But from what we’ve seen in training and the time that he was fit, he’s going to have a big, big impact in the team.

Takehiro TomiyasuInjury: Knock.Expected return date: April 23 vs Chelsea (H).

What Arteta has said: “He had a knock in the game [against Bayern Munich] and he had a bit of swelling and he wasn’t fit to play this game [against Wolves].

Bukayo SakaInjury: Unspecified – Saka has since addressed the Wolves game on his social media channels but did not mention any injury worry.
