Liverpool may need to convince star player Dominik Szoboszlai to stay with the club this summer as a shock club will attempt to sign him this summer.

Arne Slot has been nothing short of spectacular since arriving at Liverpool as the replacement for legendary manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

The Dutch manager has led the Reds to their second consecutive Carabao Cup final, while leading the Premier League table by 13 points and topping the Champions League group stage table.

Central to Slot’s success at Anfield has been his ability to further develop players already at the club, but he may have to fend off interest from a shock club for one of his top players in the summer.

Szoboszlai has been enjoying the best from of his Liverpool career, scoring and earning the man of the match award in the 2-0 wins over Manchester City and Newcastle United.

But, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool aren’t the only club that has been impressed by the midfielder’s recent form, as Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal are reportedly preparing a mega bid for the summer.

The Riyadh-based club are reportedly ready to pay as much €120m (£100m) to secure the Hungarian international’s signature in the summer, as they look to continue their transfer policy of attracting high-profile players from across the biggest clubs in the world.

The report further claims that Al Hilal are not the only club interested in making a move for the 24-year-old, as several of the “top teams” in Europe are also considering making a move.

Szoboszlai struggled to find a settled place in the early month’s of Slot’s tenure as Liverpool manager, but has now made himself a vital part of the team and has started the last nine Premier League matches in a row.

Speaking about the Szoboszlai and his recent form following the win over Newcastle, Slot said: “[I’m] very pleased for him because he’s the type of player that always looks for a teammate in a better position than him if he has a chance.

“He deserves the credit he is getting at the moment. He already got my credit every single time he played for us, but probably he gets it now even more from the people who are judging players not only on work-rate but also goals and assists.”
