Szoboszlai expressed satisfaction with his team’s display, telling TNT Sports (via Liverpool’s official website):
“I think today we showed the direction we want to head in and the standards we expect—especially from ourselves, because it all starts within the team. I understand if the fans are frustrated, but it becomes a real issue if we’re not satisfied with our own performance. If we are happy with ourselves, then everyone else will likely be happy too.
I also see this as a big step forward—a really important one. Reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in my career, and for many of us, means a lot. Now we just keep moving.”
Liverpool are set to take on defending champions PSG over two legs in April, and the 25-year-old believes they have what it takes to respond against Luis Enrique’s side. He added:
Having watched them play against Chelsea, they haven’t dropped in quality from last season. They’re a top team, but I think we proved today that we’re capable of competing at that level.”
