Trent Alexander-Arnold has issued a message hours after scoring a vital goal in Liverpool’s quest to win the Premier Leaguetitle.

The Reds recorded a 1-0 victory over Leicester City to move back to 13 points clear of second-placed Arsenal in the top-flight standings.

The right-back’s cameo against the Foxes was his first appearance since March 11 after recovering from an ankle injury he suffered against Paris Saint-Germain.

After the game, Alexander-Arnold posted on social media to send a message to Liverpool fans.

The Reds vice-captain wrote on Instagram: “Special Moments,” which included three photos from his celebration in front of the travelling Kop at the King Power.

The post received more than 300,000 likes and generated several comments, including some from members of the Liverpool squad. Curtis Jones also left a two-word message, where he wrote: “Love it!”

Harvey Elliott left a comment which had four saluting face emojis, while Ryan Gravenberch left a face exhaling emoji in his comment and Tyler Morton used a clapping hands emoji in his comment.

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Hendersonalso left a comment on Alexander-Arnold’s post. The midfielder, who left the Reds in the summer of 2023, wrote: “Special player” in his message to his former Reds teammate.

The 26-year-old’s contract is still set to expire at the end of the season, and after the final whistle he refused to give an indication of what will happen with his future when the campaign draws to a close.

“I’ve said all season, I am not going to speak on my situation,” Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports.

“I am not going to go into details, but these days like today are always special: scoring goals, winning games, being close to winning titles and being in title races, they are special moments that will live for me forever. I am glad to be a part of them.”
