Szoboszlai’s performance against Aston Villa certainly got fans talking on social media, with many hailing his impact as a future Liverpool captain.

One fan said: “Szoboszlai looks like the boss of the midfield right now, taken over from Gravenberch and Mac Allister as the best defensive and attacking midfielder.”
A second fan added: “Dominik Szoboszlai is the future captain of Liverpool. Tell him now,” while another wrote: “Szoboszlai is the SYSTEM. Simple as that.”
A fourth fan said: “Szoboszlai this season is a bit like Gravenberch last season, where I don’t really remember a match where he wasn’t man of the match for the vast majority of games.” Meanwhile, another declared: “Far from the first time this season, the best player on the pitch is Dominik Szoboszlai.”
Dominik Szoboszlai has been tipped to be Liverpool’s next captain after his latest stunning performance for the club. Szoboszlai shone in the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield with Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch getting the decisive goals against Unai Emery’s side.
That victory was enough to push the Reds up to third in the table following a run of six defeats in their last seven matches in all competitions.
Arne Slot needed all of his leaders to step up for this crucial contest, with the Hungarian skipper particularly impressing.
Against Villa, Szoboszlai played all 90 minutes of the contest, completing 54 of his 58 passes with a pass success rate of 93 percent.
He also made seven defensive contributions and seven passes into the final third, along with five recoveries in an all-round midfield display.
