Liverpool target Yankuba Minteh as they hunt for quality on the flanks
Liverpool are pushing to add more dynamism and quality in wide areas before the summer transfer window closes, with Brighton attacker Yankuba Minteh firmly on their radar.
According to TEAMtalk, the Reds are also working on a deal for Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. The French international is believed to be the preferred target, though Minteh is viewed as a more affordable alternative.
The 22-year-old Gambian winger has impressed in the Premier League with Brighton, showing the explosive pace and flair that Liverpool currently lack in the final third. Having already signed VÃctor Muñoz from Osasuna, the club still needs greater depth and quality out wide — particularly after the departure of Mohamed Salah, one of the greatest attackers in the club’s history.
Minteh is already settled in English football and could make an immediate impact. The chance to join one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs would be a significant step up for the young forward. However, prising him away from Brighton will not be straightforward. The Seagulls are expected to demand a premium fee — reports suggest a figure in the region of £70 million — for a player who, while highly promising, remains relatively unproven at the highest level.
Liverpool need reinforcements capable of contributing right away next season. Whether they ultimately land Barcola, Minteh, or another option, addressing the wide areas remains a clear priority before the window shuts
