Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Hull City goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis as the Reds begin planning for the future of Alisson Becker.
The 23-year-old Greek goalkeeper has reportedly caught the attention of several major Premier League clubs after making a strong impression since arriving in England, with Tottenham Hotspur also believed to be monitoring his situation.
According to reports from Fichajes, Liverpool have now joined the race for Tzolakis, who could command a transfer fee of around £40 million.
That figure could make the deal a major investment for Liverpool, but the Reds may see the young goalkeeper as a potential long-term successor to Alisson.
🔴 Liverpool looking at life after Alisson?
Alisson remains one of the world’s elite goalkeepers, but at 34, Liverpool inevitably have to start thinking about what comes next.
The Reds already have Georgia international Giorgi Mamardashvili on their books, having brought him in as a potential successor to Alisson. However, his performances have reportedly raised questions over whether he can eventually take over as Liverpool’s undisputed No.1.
Tzolakis could therefore emerge as an alternative option.
The Greek shot-stopper has already gained valuable experience in the Premier League with Hull and has reportedly impressed with his composure, shot-stopping ability and performances under pressure.
Liverpool could view that Premier League experience as a major advantage when considering their next goalkeeper.
⚔️ Tottenham could provide serious competition
Liverpool may not have the race to themselves.
Tottenham have already been linked with Tzolakis, and reports suggest the North London club are also keeping a close eye on his progress.
If the goalkeeper continues performing at a high level, his asking price could rise significantly, particularly if more Premier League giants enter the race.
Hull City will understandably have little interest in losing one of their most important players, meaning Liverpool could face a difficult negotiation if they decide to make their interest concrete.
🚨 £40M could be just the beginning…
For now, Liverpool’s reported interest remains one to watch, but the situation could develop quickly.
With Alisson’s long-term future eventually becoming a major talking point and doubts surrounding Mamardashvili’s ability to replace him, Tzolakis could become an increasingly interesting name on Liverpool’s transfer radar.
A £40 million move would certainly represent a huge statement from the Reds — but if the 23-year-old continues to shine in the Premier League, Liverpool may have to act quickly before his price climbs even higher.
Could Konstantinos Tzolakis really be Liverpool’s next No.1? 🔴🧤
