Liverpool fans have plenty to celebrate after the Reds battled back to secure a crucial 2-1 victory over Brentford on Saturday! 👏🔴
Victor Muñoz and Jérémy Jacquet were among the standout performers, while Alexander Isak marked his return from injury with a decisive goal. Florian Wirtz also produced a much-improved display after his disappointing performance against Manchester City. 💪
⭐ Victor Muñoz – 9/10
What a performance from the young winger! Muñoz kept running at Brentford’s defence, completed five dribbles and delivered a brilliant finish to bring Liverpool back into the game. His energy and determination were crucial to the comeback. Is he becoming one of Liverpool’s best bargains? 👀🔥
🧱 Jérémy Jacquet – 9/10
Another outstanding performance from Jacquet! The French defender stood firm against Brentford’s physical attack, won 10 duels and made 14 defensive contributions. Even after the ugly incident involving Yehor Yarmoliuk, Jacquet remained composed and continued to defend brilliantly. What a signing! 👏❤️
⚽ Alexander Isak – 8/10
Back from injury and straight onto the scoresheet! Isak delivered when Liverpool needed him most, finishing superbly to put the Reds ahead. His winning goal proved decisive as Liverpool secured all three points away from home. 🔥🇸🇪
🎩 Florian Wirtz – 8/10
A huge response from the German playmaker! Wirtz looked far more confident and creative, producing nine chances and providing the assist for Muñoz’s equaliser. After the criticism he received following the Manchester City defeat, this was the kind of performance Liverpool fans wanted to see. 👀✨
💪 Alexis Mac Allister – 8/10
Mac Allister deserves plenty of credit for his work in midfield. His battling performance and contribution away from the ball helped Liverpool fight their way back into the contest. Sometimes, the dirty work goes unnoticed!
🛡️ Virgil van Dijk – 8/10
The Liverpool captain delivered a solid performance as the Reds battled to protect their advantage and see out a difficult away fixture.
Other ratings: Alisson – 7, Milos Kerkez – 7.5, Bradley Barcola – 7, Araujo – 6.5, Nyoni – 7, Rio Ngumoha – 7.
😬 BARCOLA’S MISSED CHANCES SPARK DEBATE!
Despite setting up Isak’s winner with a fine pass, Barcola missed a big one-on-one opportunity in the first half and another excellent chance late in stoppage time. Some fans believe his rating should have been lower, while others praised his link-up play and contribution to the winning goal.
