Arsenal winger Noni Madueke has reportedly aimed a cheeky two-word message at Liverpool supporters following the Gunners’ hard-fought 1-0 Premier League victory at Anfield.
Arsenal secured a memorable result on Merseyside, ending their long wait for a Premier League win at Anfield, which had stretched back to 2012. Kai Havertz scored the decisive first-half goal, helping Mikel Arteta’s side move three points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The defeat was another frustrating setback for Liverpool, who were left nine points behind the league leaders in fifth place.
However, the match was not without controversy, as several refereeing decisions sparked heated reactions among Liverpool supporters.
Madueke’s Clash With Mac Allister Sparks Controversy
One of the biggest talking points involved an incident between Madueke and Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
The Arsenal winger, who had already received a yellow card, appeared to push his head towards the Argentine midfielder during a heated confrontation.
Despite Liverpool players and supporters questioning the decision, referee Andy Madley chose not to show Madueke a second yellow card.
The incident quickly became a major talking point, with questions raised over whether the Arsenal attacker should have been sent off.
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Carragher also criticised Mac Allister’s reaction, suggesting that players should avoid exaggerating contact during confrontations.
Two-Word Message Directed at Liverpool Supporters
Madueke remained on the pitch until the final whistle as Arsenal held on to claim all three points.
However, the winger attracted further attention after footage reportedly appeared to show him directing a provocative two-word message towards frustrated Liverpool supporters inside Anfield.
The message was:
“CRY MORE!”
The alleged gesture added more fuel to an already heated encounter between the two sides.
Speaking after the match, Madueke played down the confrontation, suggesting that his involvement in the incident did not deserve a yellow or red card. He also admitted that he briefly feared VAR could intervene and potentially result in his dismissal.
Liverpool Left Frustrated After Controversial Defeat
While Arsenal celebrated a significant victory, Liverpool were left to reflect on a disappointing afternoon.
The controversial incidents, particularly the decision not to award a penalty following Jurrien Timber’s apparent shirt-pull on Alexander Isak, continued to generate debate after the final whistle.
For Arsenal, the victory represented another important step in their Premier League campaign. For Liverpool, however, the result increased the pressure as they look to close the gap at the top of the table.
Madueke’s reported message has also added another talking point to the growing rivalry between the two clubs.
