Arne Slot counts out seconds on his fingers to show referee Leno’s time-wasting in Fulham draw

Arne Slot was clearly not happy with the referee enforcing the rules well enough in Liverpool’s draw with Fulham on Saturday.

Late in the game Bernd Leno pounced on the ball and held on to it for much longer than stipulated six seconds.

Slot told the referee exactly how long the keeper had been holding the ball as he counted out the seconds on his fingers.

Fans agreed that referees need to do better to impose the six-second rule in matches.

Dizz: “Yeah to be honest football has a long way to go in terms of respecting its own rules. Imagine if the shot clock in basketball was just based on feels rather than an actual timer. Because that’s where we are right now.”
