Another update on the future of Liverpool star Mo Salah has arrived hours before the crunch Champions League round of 16 second leg with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Liverpool host the Ligue One champions at Anfield having 1-0 win in Paris last week thanks to a late strike from substitute Harvey Elliott, who popped up with a smash and grab manager.
Salah drew a blank at the Parc des Princes and was replaced by Elliott, who found the net almost immediately.
He was back on target at the weekend in the 3-1 win over Southampton, scoring two penalties at Anfield to move up to third in Liverpool’s all-time goalscoring charts.
The Egyptian star’s contract at Liverpool is still due to expire at the end of the season and it has been reported that Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are prepared to offer the 32-year-old a mammoth wage of €50 million per season for him to become their next high-profile addition.
However, fresh reports from SPORT in Spain, claim that Salah has offered himself to Champions League rivals Barcelona.
Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona are top of La Liga having played a game less than Real Madrid and only Liverpool had a better record than them in the Champions League first phase.
Although his salary demands could well be too much for Barcelona and he would have to take a significant reduction, they can offer him the chance to continue playing in Europe at an extremely high level.
It was reported at the end of 2024 that there was an approach between Barca and Salah but it was informal and there was no serious offer or negotiation.
Salah is able to speak to overseas clubs about a contract but there hasn’t been much noise coming out out of Liverpool regarding a deal being on the table.
It’s claimed Barca take the view that if Salah has received an offer from Liverpool but not yet put pen to paper, it’s because he wants to continue his career away from Liverpool and the Premier League.
Salah is enjoying the best season of his career, with 32 goals and 22 assists in all competitions.
