Liverpool fans were left less than happy with one player in the build-up to PSG’s goal against them in the Champions League last 16 clash at Anfield.

Arne Slot’s side went into the match with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.
Harvey Elliott’s 87th-minute strike separated the two sides in Paris, in what was a game that the hosts dominated.
The Reds had Alisson to thank for a superb goalkeeping performance, which saw him pull off a string of important saves.
But the Brazilian could do little about PSG’s equaliser early on at Anfield.
Ousmane Dembele started a quick counter attack and finished it off, poking the ball into the back of the net from close range.
PSG winger Bradley Barcola crossed the ball in an attempt to find Dembele, but it was cut out by Ibrahima Konate.
However, the Frenchman’s attempted interception was less than convincing, and the ball ricocheted into the path of Dembele who then couldn’t miss.
Fans were less than impressed with Konate’s involvement in the goal.
One wrote: “Konate with the best assist you’ll see to Dembele.”
A second stated: “Alisson had that covered.”
A third added: “What was Konate doing there?”
Fans also questioned the positioning of Virgil van Dijk in the build-up, with both players playing Dembele onside from the original pass into midfield.
“Konate has to cover the channel side,” one wrote. “I have no idea what position VVD is taking up. Dembele breaks the line with ease and goes on to score.”
Liverpool haven’t lost a Champions League game at Anfield since their 5-2 last 16 defeat to Real Madrid in 2023.
Slot has only tasted defeat once at home in any competition – a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest back in September.
That is, to date, Liverpool’s only loss in the Premier League this season.
