Liverpool edge closer to club-record deal for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool are closing in on a major summer signing as talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola intensify in the final days of the transfer window.

According to L’Équipe, the 23-year-old France international and his representatives are increasingly confident a move to Anfield can be completed soon. Discussions between the clubs have been ongoing for several weeks, and the valuation gap has narrowed significantly.

Barcola has already agreed personal terms with the Reds. Liverpool previously had an offer of around €115 million rejected. PSG initially sought as much as €170 million before lowering their demands (reports have put the current asking price in the €130–150 million range). An improved formal bid from Liverpool is expected, and sources on both sides believe an agreement is within reach. The fee would set a new record for a Ligue 1 sale to a foreign club and become PSG’s biggest-ever outgoing transfer.

The winger has struggled for consistent starts at PSG amid intense competition in Luis Enrique’s attack. A move to Merseyside would give him the regular minutes he wants while adding pace, quality, and long-term potential to Andoni Iraola’s wide options. Last season he contributed to 20 goals despite limited starts; those numbers are expected to rise with more game time.

Barcola has also attracted interest from Arsenal, but Liverpool remain the clear frontrunners. The Reds have been linked with other wide players (including Yankuba Minteh and PSG teammate Ibrahim Mbaye) as they look to strengthen the flanks further before the window shuts.

If completed, the deal would represent a significant statement of intent from Liverpool as they rebuild under Iraola.
