Bukayo Saka reveals Arsenal players’ plan after North London Derby as Man City theory quashed

After Sunday’s exciting 3-2 North London Derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Bukayo Saka maintains that Manchester City are “not perfect” and that Arsenal will closely monitor their title rivals.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Saka and Kai Havertz’s goals quickly followed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s own goal to give the Gunners a 3-0 halftime lead.

Still, they had to weather a storm of late as Son Heung-Min and Cristian Romero cut the deficit.

Arsenal’s chances of winning the league title, however, are still out of their hands as Manchester City still has two games in hand over the Gunners, even though they have defeated their local rivals and taken a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League.Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s win, Saka admitted Arsenal are focused on winning their remaining games of the season and dismissed the suggestion that Pep Guardiola’s side will canter to a fourth successive title.

Asked what Arsenal’s plan was after beating Spurs, Saka said: “Well, we’ll get on the bus, put the game on and hope for the best! City are an amazing team but they’re not perfect – no one’s perfect.

They can drop points, we just need to do our job. There is not much room for error, they showed that last year and the years before. We’ve got experience now, learnt our lessons last year and we’re ready for the last three games.

The 22-year-old was part of the Arsenal side that fell away in the final weeks of last season’s title hunt but believes he and his team-mates are better equipped to take City to the wire this time around, proven by Sunday’s gritty second-half performance.

Last season that could have ended in a draw but today we showed that we have the experience now,” added Saka. “We can come here and get three points even when the stakes are high and it is a massive game. Delighted, like I said before
