Liverpool Linked with Surprise Move for Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling
Liverpool have been linked with a late move for VfB Stuttgart attacker Jamie Leweling, according to Sky Germany, with Everton also monitoring the situation.
The 25-year-old German international, contracted until 2029, enjoyed a strong campaign last season, contributing 11 goals and 12 assists across all competitions. Primarily a right-sided winger who can also operate on the left, Leweling offers the kind of versatility and end product that could appeal to clubs still shopping in the final days of the window.
Liverpool’s need on the right flank is clear. With Mohamed Salah having departed and new arrivals Victor Muñoz and Bradley Barcola both more naturally suited to the left, a right-sided attacker remains a priority. Leweling’s profile fits, and the club’s financial capacity means a premium fee would not be an automatic barrier. However, Stuttgart have little incentive to sell easily, and completing a deal on deadline day would be complicated.
Everton are also keeping tabs. With Iliman Ndiaye set to join Manchester City, the Toffees require a creative replacement. Leweling’s ability to operate across the forward line could make him an attractive option for them as well.
Whether either Premier League side submits a formal offer remains to be seen. Stuttgart’s stance and the late stage of the window both work against a swift resolution, but Leweling’s form and positional fit ensure he will stay on the radar until the deadline.
