According to talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs, Ibrahima Konate is now expected to leave Liverpool as a free agent this summer.
The club and the player have been in talks for months, with Konate even indicating back in April that a new deal was close.
However, the sides still could not reach an agreement, leaving the Frenchman free to leave Anfield.
His departure would likely force Liverpool into making a new centre-back signing, unless they want to pair Virgil van Dijk with one of Joe Gomez, Jeremy Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni.
