Djed Spence offered to Manchester United and Liverpool amid desire for regular football
Tottenham full-back Djed Spence has been offered to Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool as the summer transfer window intensifies, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The versatile defender, comfortable operating on either flank, is currently assessing his options ahead of the new season as he prioritises guaranteed first-team football.
Speaking on The United Stand, Jacobs revealed that Spence’s name has been actively circulated among top English clubs as a potential full-back reinforcement.
“They might sign a right-sided full-back who can play on the other side,” Jacobs said. “Djed Spence is a name on the player side who has been offered around. He’s been offered to Liverpool, been offered to Manchester United. I’m not aware yet whether the clubs are interested in that deal, but Spence wants to go somewhere he can play week-in, week-out, whether that’s on the right or the left.”
Neither Manchester United nor Liverpool have entered advanced negotiations at this stage, though both clubs continue to evaluate options to strengthen their flank positions.
Spence is open to leaving Tottenham if an incoming offer provides a clear path to regular starts. Despite flashes of individual quality, competition for places in Spurs’ defensive setup has limited his minutes, prompting the defender to seek week-in, week-out action elsewhere.
