Serious moment off the pitch! Mamardashvili handed punishment after court ruling sparks huge debate.. Full story 👇

Giorgi Mamardashvili has been punished after being found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving. The Liverpool shot-stopper was handed a £440 fine, six penalty points on his licence, £120 in court costs and a £176 victim surcharge.Police stopped the Georgian goalkeeper at around 3:45pm on January 27 while he was driving on the southbound side of the M6 near Warrington. According to Cheshire Police officer PC Ree, the black Audi first drew attention for remaining in lane two despite lane one being free. The officer then noticed Mamardashvili holding a mobile phone close to the steering wheel while seemingly watching something on the screen as he travelled at motorway speed. After pulling the vehicle over onto the hard shoulder, police spoke to the goalkeeper, who was the only person inside the car.The Liverpool keeper, who made 20 appearances this season, failed to respond to the prosecution notice, with the case later handled privately under the Single Justice Procedure.
