Harry Kane Not Considering Tottenham Return Despite Release Clause

Tottenham legend Harry Kane has a £54 million release clause in his Bayern Munich contract that can be triggered in January, potentially allowing a Premier League club to bring him back to England.
The England captain has expressed his happiness at seeing Tottenham’s recent progress, especially their Europa League triumph last season. However, he made it clear that he is not currently considering an emotional return to north London.
Last month, Spurs boss Thomas Frank stated he would welcome Kane back to N17 with open arms. In response, Kane revealed that he feels settled in Germany and is even open to extending his stay at Bayern Munich. His current deal runs until the summer of 2027.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Kane said:
> “I’m not sure [if I’ll go back]. I’m very happy here in Munich. It’s not something I’m thinking about. It’ll always be ‘we’ when I talk about Spurs because I spent my whole life there.
I’m a fan of them and will always watch and see how they’re getting on. They’ll always be a part of my life for sure, but for now, I’m loving it here. It was great to see them win a trophy — I’ve got a lot of friends there with the players and staff.
We know how long we waited and how close we’d come in the past, so it was big for everyone — the fans, the club, and all involved — to finally get that feeling and get one over the line. Hopefully, they can push on and win more.”
Kane, who has 213 Premier League goals, remains just 47 goals short of Alan Shearer’s all-time record. Yet even if he returns to England to chase that milestone, there is no certainty it would stand for long, as Erling Haaland continues to score at a prolific rate.
Haaland, with 94 Premier League goals in 104 appearances, is set to enter the league’s prestigious 100 Club soon and has recently extended his Manchester City contract until 2034.
Meanwhile, Kane is arguably enjoying the best form of his career, having scored 21 goals for club and country this season, including a brace against Latvia last night. With the World Cup on the horizon and his current form at its peak, a move away from Bayern Munich appears highly unlikely at present.
