Liverpool Given Clear Message on Arne Slot’s Future After Stunning Forest Defeat

Written by admin

Liverpool’s embarrassing 3–0 collapse against Nottingham Forest has now sparked major debate over the future of manager Arne Slot — and the club has reportedly already been told what decision must be made.

The Premier League returned after the international break with Liverpool hoping to reset their season. But instead of relief, Anfield was left stunned as Forest — led by Sean Dyche — completely outplayed the reigning champions, deepening concerns about Slot’s leadership.

The defeat followed Chelsea’s heated 2–0 victory over Burnley earlier in the day, but while the Blues grabbed headlines for controversial reasons, Liverpool’s performance created an entirely different kind of uproar.

The Reds have now dropped to 11th place, alarmingly closer to the relegation scrap than to league leaders Arsenal. Worse still, Slot’s squad has suffered eight losses in their last 11 games, including five defeats in six Premier League outings. Naturally, calls for the Dutchman’s dismissal have grown louder.

Despite the chaos, former Liverpool star and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes the club should resist rushing into a managerial change. He argues that Slot’s Premier League title triumph last season gives him enough credit to survive this brutal spell.

According to Redknapp, Liverpool are “in a real rut,” but patience is needed — especially given the emotional and tactical challenges of the season. The team is still recovering from the heartbreaking loss of Diogo Jota, alongside the struggles of bedding in several summer signings.

Slot, for his part, hasn’t dodged responsibility. Speaking after the match, he admitted the blame rests entirely on him.

> “Whether things go right or wrong, it always comes back to me,” Slot said.
“We didn’t create enough, the adjustments didn’t work, and we couldn’t find a goal. We’re in a very bad moment — that’s the truth.”

With the Champions League looming in just a few days, Slot insists the team must keep their heads up and fight their way out of the slump.

> “We have quality players. It’s my job to get the best out of them. I’m not doing that right now, and that’s why I take responsibility.”

Liverpool now face a major dilemma: stay loyal to last season’s title-winning manager, or pull the trigger as the pressure intensifies
