Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested that returning to management could be a possibility in the years ahead—despite previously saying he has no intention of going back to the touchline.

Klopp stepped down from his role at Anfield in the summer of 2024 after nearly nine years in charge.
Arne Slot succeeded him, going on to win the Premier League in his first season at the club.
Since leaving Liverpool, Klopp has worked as Red Bull’s global head of football, overseeing the wider Red Bull club network, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg and the New York Red Bulls.
Even so, Klopp has remained a frequent subject of speculation about a future return to coaching, with some recent reports linking him to the Real Madrid vacancy.
Klopp, however, dismissed those rumours, calling them “nonsense.”
Speaking at the Magenta TV World Cup team presentation in Munich, he said that if Real Madrid were interested, they would have made contact by now—adding that no one had called him or his agent.
He reiterated that he is not currently considering any move and said he is “not quite finished” with coaching yet, leaving the door open for later possibilities while insisting there are no plans in the near term.
There has also been talk recently about whether Klopp could leave his Red Bull role, despite him only starting in January. Klopp rejected that speculation as well, responding that people who don’t understand football often assume they know what should happen.
His comments come days before he is expected to return to the dugout for Liverpool’s charity match at Anfield this weekend.
Klopp will join Sir Kenny Dalglish’s backroom staff as Liverpool Legends take on Borussia Dortmund in a charity fixture on Saturday afternoon.
