With Mohamed Salah officially confirming he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the club has stepped up its hunt for a top-tier replacement.
Alongside Real Madrid and Manchester City, Liverpool have set their sights on Michael Olise, the standout winger at Bayern Munich.
However, Bayern have made it crystal clear they have no intention of selling, sending a firm message to Europe’s elite that their 24-year-old star is untouchable.
Bayern Munich hold firm on Olise
The growing rumours around Olise’s future have been quickly shut down by Bayern’s top officials. Sporting director Max Eberl dismissed the speculation, insisting the club has no plans to part ways with the winger.
“He’s a Bayern player and has everything he needs here to succeed,” Eberl stated confidently.
Olise’s contract situation further strengthens Bayern’s stance. His deal runs until 2029 and does not include a release clause, giving the club complete control. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has also echoed that the player is not for sale—regardless of the huge sums being mentioned.
Liverpool forced to explore alternatives
Liverpool had identified Olise as a prime candidate to replace Salah, especially after his remarkable output of 38 goal contributions in 38 appearances this season.
With his blistering speed, creative vision, and lethal left foot, he fits the profile of a perfect successor to the departing “Egyptian King.”
But despite interest from some of the richest clubs in world football, Bayern’s financial strength and stature mean they are under no pressure to sell. Unless an extraordinary, record-breaking offer changes everything, the Bundesliga giants have effectively shut the door.
As a result, Liverpool will now need to shift focus and consider other options to fill the void left by Salah.
